Summary Hamnet:

Part I
Hoofdstuk I:
Description of house and pain in knees. Sometimes he ‘leaves the world’. Hamnet is in the
forbidden workplace of his grandfather, searching for someone (everyone is gone). He finds
his grandfather but he seems to be a bit dangerous. Hamnet got hit by his grandfather.
There is something wrong with Judith; the two are twins (3mins). Agnes is leasing a patch of
land (in Hewlands) from her brother. She has some insects and can communicate with them.
Hamnet gets to the doctor’s house and a woman asks what's wrong and asks about
‘buboes’. The doctor will come later. Hamnet passes his family while going to the doctor, and
John tries to speak about his gloves to people. Judith thinks everything is moving. Susanna
says that since their grandfather was disgraced, people avoid their grandparents. The maid
is getting milk, Agnes collects honey, and the father is on his way. And there is still no one
home.

Hoofdstuk II: 28
It tells about a Latin tutor. I don’t really get the following part. And then he sees a bird and a
girl he wants to talk to. They give some info about the girl pg 38. the tuto starts a talk with
her in the Hewlands. She is kind of the same age and when the tutor tells about the bird, the
lady says he can’t say it to anybody. Then she does something weird with his forearm and
shows the ‘falcon’. They are touching each other the whole time. The lady is called Anne.
⇒ or not, they are in the apple store? She kisses him and her name is Agnes. There was a
story about a girl living at the edge of the forest with a falcon, the eldest daughter of the
house. The story is told, by a girl who marries a man and gets some children but dies by the
third one. She isn’t a normal housewife. A child would only trust the widowwoman. PG49
Joan had children with someone and called Agnes a weird girl. She could see in someone's
soul. This is the story of her childhood. Bartholomew is Agnes' brother. Their stepmother was
Joan. Their real mother seems to be dead, but Agnes says she remembers her, but
everyone says that that's impossible. She tells a story about a priest and her mother, but the
father says “this isn't true” and says she can't tell anybody. Everyone says she can't tell
anybody. Agnes is rarely touched but: She grows up fascinated by the hands of others,
drawn always to touch them, to feel them in hets. That muscle between thumb and
forefingers is, to her, irresistible. PG 57
She can see into someone's soul using that. But she must hide it and isn't loved while
growing up. But when she gets her chance, she will grab it with both hands.

Hoofdstuk III: Pg 60

Hamnet is back home but there is still no one at home. Susanna comes also home. It seems
like the mother has a special ability to see how to heal someone. Susanna hates it when
people ask how her mother does the healing. Hamnet is the only one who goes to school
and can write properly. Susanna needs to help her grandmother Mary with the food. There is
still no sign of their mom.
